The Goldfields Printmakers Group is exhibiting a group show at the Ballarat Art Gallery. (See details above) and check out the printmakers involved on the website www.golfieldsprintmakers.com
We each had to submit 3 prints on the theme of "Borders & Crossings" to be individually interpreted by each printmaker in their printmaking method of choice and as a result the collection of prints are so varied. Two prints each have been selected for this exhibition while one print each will travel to the Impact 8 printmakers conference in Dundee Scotland later in the year.
Jimmy Pasakos, lecturer from Ballarat University will accompany the open folio and present a paper on the formation of The Goldfields printmakers group.

Workshop printing leaves & feathers

A print workshop with my "Kollective" friends at Halls Gap.
There is a great thrill that I feel still when teaching new skills to others. The Grampians "Kollective" each month runs a morning share workshop where each member has their turn at introducing their area of expertise/their passion to the rest of the group. It was my turn on the Saturday morning 11th may.
"What to offer in the area of printmaking for a half a day?" was a big question.
I asked those members attending to bring along feathers, and leaves and textured papers and I would supply the rest... printing press included.
Sarah's themed leaf prints are featured to the left.

The Prints

Because the prints  were small scale, we could place quite a few on the press at once and in this way every participant could get quick results.
The "Kollective" has a beautiful light filled workshop at a house and gallery that once belonged to the very respected Halls Gap, Grampians artist, Laurie Evans.
